The NRx Patient Care Network is a unique system for the nursing staff and patients. Its unique because of its features like UMAI, Additional help alarm and nurse call. In case of emergencies in the hospital the system is very helpful in alerting the staff. Till date there are no other manufacturers of this kind of System in India.The communication in the system is carried by a specially designed cable. The alarms are indicated at the Nurses Console. The features of the system are :
1. Nurse Call :
       This is the basic feature of the unit. Whenever a patient activates the call then the call information is sent to the Nurses’ Central Station.
2. Universal Medical Equipment Alarm Interface (UMAI) :
      The medical equipment like Pulse oximeter, Syringe Pump, Infusion Pump etc. can be hooked to the Alarm Socket of the system. If the medical equipment gives alarm in the room then the emergency status is communicated to the  Central Station. Any equipment having an alarm out put can be interfaced to the System for the UMAI.
3. Additional Help Alarm :
      Whenever the nurse enters the patient room and finds the patient in a very critical condition, we cannot expect the nurse to come to the nurses’ station and call the staff for help. Instead the nurse can insert an Alarm Jack in the unit. Then the emergency alarm is activated in the central Station.
          The system has the door unit, corridor unit, bathroom unit and other optional units as separate indicators which  work along with the main system.
